"All of us would be overjoyed if Tiger Woods could come back and play at a high level", Woods' former swing coach Butch Harmon told Sky Sports.

The 14-time major champion, Tiger Woods, will make his latest return from long-term injury at the Hero World Challenge (Bahamas) in November.

"I am excited to return to competitive golf at the Hero World Challenge", Woods posted.

"Albany is the flawless setting and it will be great to join this outstanding field", Woods said on his website.

Since then Woods has posted videos during his battle to regain fitness, most recently footage of him firing a "stinger" shot with a long iron. During his latest injury layoff, Woods served as a U.S. team assistant captain at the Presidents Cup last month where said he was uncertain if he would ever return to competitive golf. "I would also like to thank the fans for their unwavering support during my injury". The 41-year-old underwent a fourth back surgery one month later. The field includes the top four players in the world (Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama, and Justin Thomas), as well as Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Brooks Koepka, Matt Kuchar, and others.

Woods appeared at Palm Beach County Courthouse on October 27 where he was fined 250 United States dollars (£190), ordered to pay 250 dollars to Palm Beach County Victim Services, told to attend a driving under the influence school and complete 50 hours' community service.

He pleaded guilty to reckless driving and agreed to enter a diversion program during a court appearance last week in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Woods has committed to several tournaments the last couple years that he eventually withdrew from, so he is not a lock to play the Hero World Challenge just yet. In May, Woods was found passed out in his Mercedes with prescription drugs and marijuana in his system.
