Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will be clear to play in Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

You'll hear people wonder why Elliott doesn't just give up the legal battle against the National Football League and serve the suspension, which was given out due to an alleged domestic violence incident.

Failla, who heard arguments from the National Football League and NFLPA in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of NY, stayed the decision for 24 hours to afford Elliott and the NFLPA the opportunity to consider appellate options.

Ezekiel Elliott has a strong explanation for why he continues to fight his suspension at every turn. Elliott says it's to protect his reputation.

A series of injunctions and restraining orders have allowed Elliott, 22, to play to this point, but U.S. District Court Judge Katherine P. Failla denied Elliott's request for another injection earlier this week, putting his suspension into effect.

Elliott was accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend five times in the span of a week in 2016.

The stop-and-go season has not discouraged Elliott from moving forward with the appeals process each time a court upholds the suspension.

The NFLPA also requested the 2nd Circuit expedite its request and issue an administrative stay.

The NFL argued roughly 100 players have been suspended for approximately 500 games over the past season and a half, therefore "Elliott's claim of irreparable injury is indistinguishable from those that could be made by 100 other players".

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady served a four-game suspension at the start of last season after delaying it a year through the courts.
