  • Chiefs Sign CB Darrelle Revis

The Kansas City Chiefs signed free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis to a contract, the team announced Wednesday.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Revis' deal with the Chiefs is for two years, with the minimum this year and "no fully guaranteed money" in 2018.

That wasn't the case last year, when Revis said he was "way over" his desired weight after having offseason wrist surgery ahead of a disappointing year with the Jets.

Reid didn't rule out Revis playing this weekend because he knows defensive coordinator Bob Sutton's system from their time together with the Jets. The 32-year-old has not been on an National Football League roster since the New York Jets released him after the 2016 season.

Revis is a seven-time Pro Bowler and has earned First Team All-Pro honors four times.

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed Darrell Revis to their active roster to assist in cornerback duties. Won't be much of a learning curve for Darrelle Revis.

"Darrelle is a proven player in this league and we are excited to add him to our secondary", general manager Brett Veach said in a news release.

The Chiefs can surely use held in the secondary, which hasn't performed at a high clip in the absence of safety Eric Berry. The team now sit at 28th in passing yards allowed. If they face the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Patriots in the playoffs, that will be a serious problem.

Revis won his only Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2014 before returning to the Jets.
