  • Second-generation iPhone SE could be released next year

Three weeks later, the company is continuing to improve its shipping times for the iPhone X, as Apple Canada's website now shows 1-2 weeks for all models. Now, it looks like we can expect an iPhone SE 2 in the not too distant future. Could we see Face ID, wireless charging, and a lack of the headphone jack on the next iPhone SE?

The phone is likely to cost about $450, which is what the SE originally cost when it was first released.

The report said the upcoming device will be exclusively manufactured by Wintron in Bangalore, India and will be released worldwide. The current iPhone SE starts at $349.

The iPhone SE has a 4-inch screen, much smaller than the 4.7-inch display on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8.

To recall, Apple captured the interest of the public by introducing a standard edition iPhone back in March 2016.

Though we have an estimated time frame for the launch of the iPhone SE 2, we need to mention that this is not the first time that we are getting to know information about the iPhone SE successor. This was intended for those that didn't necessarily want to make the jump to the larger 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch sizes that came with the iPhone 6. As the SE was significantly less expensive than Apple's luxury phones, it may very well be that the company is looking to focus their efforts on increasing their representation in the huge market that is India. Moreover, the SE also supports 4K video playback, which was not available on the iPhone 5S.
