Cleveland Shooting: 6 Children Shot on Street, 1 Fatally

Police say the shooting happened Friday night and the victims were boys ranging in age from 12 to 16 years.

The shooting broke out near a liquor store on the city's east side around 7:30 p.m., CBS affiliate WOIO reports. They began firing at the group of young people, police said.

Cleveland police say the 34-year-old woman died at the scene.

The slain 12-year-old boy has been identified as Abdel Latif Bashiti.

The teens injured have not been identified. An additional 16-year-old kid and a 14-year-old kid were shot in the leg.

Cleveland Police homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was found with a gunshot wound to her head late Saturday.

No one has been arrested, but police say a grey vehicle was used by the suspect.

Each of the six kids, including the kid who kicked the bucket, were taken to University Hospitals of Cleveland for treatment.

The shooting happened about 8:45 p.m. outside a house on the 13200 block of Crennell Avenue, just a few blocks north of Harvard Avenue in the city's Union-Miles neighborhood, Cleveland police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia said.
