The judge who sentenced Meek Mill to two to four years in prison for parole violations has been ordered to grant him a bail hearing and to get out of the way of his motions for appeal. "If you can do this to a successful artist like Meek Mill, you can do this to many around the country", said Sharpton. He was sentenced to two to four years in prison earlier this month after violating his probation for gun and drug convictions almost a decade ago.

Prosecutors and Mill's probation officer recommended that he be spared prison time for the violations. A lawyer for Meek Mill asked Philadelphia Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley to recuse herself from the case Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, before the rapper appeals his prison sentence.

Brinkley imprisoned Mill, 30, after a drug test came back dirty for the prescription narcotic Percocet and he racked up arrests for a St. Louis airport altercation and popping a wheelie on a dirt bike in NY. Meek Mill is behind bars at the Chester State Correctional Institution in Pennsylvania.

An appeals court has told a Philadelphia judge to act "without further delay" on Meek Mill's almost 2-week-old request to be freed.
