Willie Taggart has agreed to become Florida State's next football coach. He replaces Jimbo Fisher, who took the job at Texas A&M.

The Ducks are 7-5 this season and play in the Las Vegas Bowl later this month. But FSU rebounded and won four of five down the stretch to continue the program's record bowl streak to 36 consecutive years.

Taggart is following in Todd Graham territory as the two not hold the only distinction to be the head coach of an FBS program in three straight years. However, before their bowl game in 2012, he was hired by USF to be their next head coach.

The FSU football program reportedly has its new head coach.

Taggart danced around the topic of the Florida State opening when speaking with reporters last week.

OR started this past season 4-1 and even briefly popped into the AP rankings, but starting quarterback Justin Herbert broke his collarbone and the Ducks floundered, going 1-4 without him.

Fisher went 82-23 in eight seasons at Florida State, leading the Seminoles to eight straights bowls and a BCS National Championship Game victory against Auburn in 2013.

The Seminoles expect to have quarterback Deondre Francois back next season after he suffered a season-ending knee injury in the opener against Alabama.

Taggart led the Ducks to a 7-5 record this season, despite being without starting quarterback Justin Herbert for a big chunk of the season, and they'll play No. 25 Boise State in the AutoNation Cure Bowl in Las Vegas on December 16.

According to Sports Illustrated, Taggart was happy with being at OR but could not pass up the chance to take over the program he cheered on growing up in Bradenton, Florida.
