A body believed to be that of a missing Nebraska woman who disappeared after a Tinder date last month has been found - and there's "evidence of foul play", police said as two persons of interest in the case remain behind bars.

Dozens of investigators spent hours Tuesday combing roadside ditches and the edges of cornfields in southeastern Clay County, searching for evidence in the death of Sydney Loofe a day after remains believed to be hers were found in the area.

Two people are considered persons of interest in the case: 23-year-old Bailey Boswell and her roommate 51-year-old Aubrey Trail.

Lincoln Police says that Trail and Boswell were two of the last people to see Sydney before her disappearance.

Boswell and Trail posted a video to social media in which they said they were innocent and had been "slammed and crucified" in the newspapers. Aubrey Trail and Bailey Boswell are being held at the Saline County Jail, after they turned themselves in in Taney County, Missouri. We love you Sydney, ' the statement reads. She was recognized as a well mannered and sympathetic individual who contributed at whatever point required. It had gone so well, she said, that they had talked about another outing to a nearby casino. Both apparently left the state in the days after Loofe disappeared and were arrested on unrelated charges.

"The investigative efforts have not been able to confirm those particular details".

The parents of missing United States woman Sydney Loofe set up a Facebook page called Finding Sydney Loofe. She was last seen in Wilber, 40 miles (64 kilometers) southwest of Lincoln, police have said. Several law-enforcement agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation have been involved in the search. This time, though, they went to Boswell's home, where they smoked more marijuana and she provided Loofe a 1/4-ounce of it, she claims. Meyer recalled that when the Loofe children were in high school, they would have a family movie night every Sunday and were regular attendees at the Lutheran church. Boswell said she hadn't heard from Loofe since.

Now on her family's Facebook page raising awareness about her disappearance, a "tragic update" has been shared.

Last night Sydney's parents issued a Facebook post asking, "Please continue to pray for Sydney and our entire family". "We'll still work toward that end, but again, the analysis of the (digital records) was what led us to the discovery of who we believe to be Sydney".

Trail said he objected to the reporting on his criminal background, which includes a conviction for grand theft in 2000. May God grant eternal rest unto thee.
