  • New Orleans Saints defensive end Al Quadin Muhammad sacks Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Cardale Jones late in the game during a preseason game at Stub Hub Center in Carson Calif. Sunday Aug. 20 2017

The Saints stopped one Tampa drive when rookie safety Marcus Williams made his third interception of the season and on another when linebacker Craig Robertson picked off Winston.

After three consecutive incompletions, Winston found tight end Cameron Brate for a 12-yard gain on fourth-and-10 and the dramatic drive was on. The Saints tried to run out the clock, but Brees was sacked on third-and-10.

News had come Friday that head coach Dirk Koetter would be back for a third season in 2018.

The rookie running back out of Tennessee scored on a 106-yard kickoff return - the longest play in Saints history - and on a 7-yard run to help the Saints take a 14-13 lead.

TAMPA — After four straight one-score losses, the Bucs finally got the close win theyve been waiting for.

The Bucs scored on their opening drive, getting a 1-yard touchdown run from Peyton Barber, who started and ran well, getting 63 yards in the first three quarters.

More news: "Mild" Saturday, Colder Sunday

The Bucs defense allowed the Saints to march 92 yards in 13 plays, going back ahead 24-20 on a 3-yard pass from Drew Brees to fullback Zach Line with 7:07 left.

The Bucs got a 42-yard field goal from Patrick Murray with 4:31 remaining, cutting New Orleans' lead to 24-23.

If the Saints (11-4) defeat the Bucs (4-11), New Orleans will win its first NFC South title since 2011.

Ingram and Kamara were able to set an incredible record by each reaching at least 1,500 scrimmage yards in a single season.

The cherry on top was wide receiver Chris Godwin's 39-yard touchdown reception, the rookie's first of his career, followed by a Mike Evans two-point conversion to put the Buccaneers up 31-24 with nine seconds left in the game.
