  • Freezing rain sleet possible late Sunday

The weekend is expected to be so cold in the Lower Hudson Valley that your exposed skin could be frostbitten in as little as 30 minutes.

Temperatures are expected to stay above freezing in central and south Alabama, so only a cold rain is expected there.

Freezing rain or sleet may linger into the morning commute on Monday.

Come Sunday, the skies will be mostly sunny with a high around 50 degrees.

Friday night temperatures will drop to minus 6 and the westerly winds carrying arctic air will continue blasting at between 16 to 21 miles per hour with gusts as high as 45 miles per hour. Overnight, the skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 17 and a south wind of 6-8 miles per hour. The expected high will be around 34. Most of MA received more than a foot of snow with some towns seeing as much as 17 inches, according to NWS observations.

In the evening, the Parkland could see rain, possibly mixed with freezing rain, before 3 a.m.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 44.

Expect Saturday's highs to be in the mid 20s, he said.

High temperatures by Thursday will reach the 60s and 70s in Alabama.
