They also said he wouldn't be part of the reshoots unless he got $1.5 million.

In August, Forbes magazine named Wahlberg the world's highest paid actor in 2017, earning an estimated US$68 million.

According to USA Today, Wahlberg asked for more money because he wasn't satisfied with the choice of Christopher Plummer as the replacement for Kevin Spacey. Williams intrinsically wanted the project to work and waived her fee. Scott said he wasn't paid for the extra work, and neither were any of the other actors.

Williams had already worked on the film for less than her standard fee. There's a economic differential at play -but it's not $1.5 million $80 per diem.

And Williams - who has 12-year-old daughter Matilda with late ex-partner Heath Ledger - was only too happy to give up her Thanksgiving holiday and work for free on the reshoots because she'd anxious the project would be "flushed down the toilet" following the accusations against Spacey.

Whether Williams could have gotten the exact same paycheck as Wahlberg for the reshoots probably depends on how much additional work each of them had to do. But after Plummer signed up, Wahlberg allegedly had his reps meeting with two main financiers for the film.

But there are questions about the extent to which Wahlberg was on board with this all-hands-on-deck spirit of collaboration. Multiple sources familiar with the production told the news outlet that director Ridley Scott was furious he was "hung out to dry". Neither Wahlberg's camp nor his agency, William Morris Endeavor - which also represents Williams - provided comment on the new reporting.

The film "All the Money in the World" didn't live up to its title when it came to paying actress Michelle Williams - an uncomfortable revelation at a time when Hollywood is still trying to find its footing in treating women fairly, experts say.

"We're told the financing guys had no choice and agreed to pay", TMZ reported.

The news comes as the pay gap between Wahlberg and Williams spirals into a war of words over what was or was not in their contracts. Williams' contract had such a requirement.

Williams, who earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in "All the Money in the World", notably walked the red carpet with Tarana Burke, senior director of the nonprofit Girls for Gender Equity and the founder of the #MeToo movement. Christopher had to get paid. She's a brilliant Oscar nominated Golden Globe winning actress.

SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) is responding to outrage over reports of pay disparity among the cast of the movie "All The Money In The World".
