Carlos Carvalhal said Swansea must "continue to swim to reach the coastline" after a 1-0 win over Burnley secured a fourth win in seven games under his tenure. Swansea will have to make a note of keeping him at bay.

"I was obviously at both games, the one against them I was injured for but I was fit for the Arsenal one".

"I like a joke and to relax people, but the motivation and atmosphere is about everyone being together when everything must be connected".

"There are a lot of people behind our team".

"Of course, you show your personality".

Carvalhal is an engaging character whose descriptions of his January transfer targets - "I will look to the lobsters and sea bass, but if not we must buy sardines" - or likening beating Liverpool to "stopping a Formula 1 auto in London traffic" have caused enormous reactions on social media.

Carvalhal later prompted laughter around the room when he told one reporter he still had some Pasteis de nata crumbs around his mouth.

Burnley are coming off a draw with Manchester City but haven't won in nine premier league games, with their last win coming against Stoke almost a month ago.

"Now, in this moment, we have started swimming and we can now go to the coast".

The Ayew brothers could play in the same team for the first time since 2013 as Swansea City look to continue an impressive run of form. But the sharks are around and they can push you down again.

"We want to stay in the Premier League and as a team, we are going to do everything to make sure we achieve that".

The Premier League match between Swansea and Burnley will not be broadcast on live TV.

Burnley have not won since December 12, a run of 10 games, but Carvalhal insisted: "It is not a good period to play against them". The availability of both new signings comes at a key time for manager Carlos Carvalhal after Leroy Fer and Wilfried Bony picked up injuries likely to keep them both out for a lengthy period of time.
