A shocking incident which revealed the operating standards at the state-run Maharani Laxmibai Medical College in Jhansi, a patient's amputated leg was used as a pillow.

After the case came to light, Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College principal Sadhna Kaushik assured strict action against those who are found guilty. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where the doctors amputated his leg to prevent the infection from spreading.

UP government woke up after the video went viral and ordered a probe to find out who put the leg under the patient's head.

Visuals of the man which were aired on local channels showed him lying on a stretcher with bandages around the leg.

When the insensitive approach of the doctors was brought to the notice of CMS, Dr Harish Chandra Arya, he said the matter would be investigated and strong action would be taken against the persons responsible for the act.

Ghanshyam, 28, claimed that the hospital staff put the severed leg under his head as a pillow.

Family member Janaki Prasad said: "When we reached the hospital, we saw his leg being used as a headrest".
