Trump Calls Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas" After She Reveals Native American Heritage

  • WAR PATH'Can you imagine covering Bernie or Pocahontas? How about that? Trump asked the crowd Saturday night

Warren also vehemently denied she is mounting a campaign for the presidency in 2020 and plans to fulfill her next 6-year term if re-elected to the Senate later this year. "My daddy first saw my mother when they were both teenagers".

Warren has yet to fully answer whether she used a claim of Native American heritage to help her academic career, said Beth Lindstrom, a Republican hoping to unseat her. Warren is sticking to the story she was told, but that doesn't make it true.

"For these reasons, those who wish her ill will never allow the Native American question to recede; Sen". But Warren is also unpopular enough in Massachusets that she doesn't want to give her opponents any more ammo by announcing that she wants to move on.

"I know who I am".

Trump's tariffs, which he announced last Thursday, were met with swift opposition from numerous president's fellow Republicans who say they will harm the economy.

Warren said her parents were born in Oklahoma and that her father's family was concerned about his relationship with Warren's mother, who was part Native American. Asked if she will, Warren instead talked about her family and Native American issues.

"That's the story that my brothers and I all learned from our mom and our dad, from our grandparents", Warren said.

But Warren's story has come under scrutiny for relying on family lore rather than official tribal documentation of Native American heritage.

"Frankly, I just don't see how any senator can vote to weaken the regulations on Wall Street banks", the MA senator told CNN's Jim Acosta on "State of the Union".

Warren has acknowledged telling Harvard and her previous employer, the University of Pennsylvania, of her Native American heritage, but only after she had been hired.

"If I don't win the election, [news] ratings are going to go so far down, they'll be out of business, every one of them".

In an op-ed titled, "Taking a DNA test could solve at least one of Elizabeth Warren's political problems", Vennochi took a pot shot at Trump as she acknowledged that the issue must be dealt with.

The idea of a DNA test has gained the support of Boston Globe columnist Joan Vennochi.
