The budget has put an emphasis on improving the environment, health, education, water, sewer and road infrastructure in the city.

For the 2018-19 fiscal, Mr. Sisodia said, the government targeted the time-bound induction of 1,000 buses, each, for the DTC, under the cluster scheme and the creation of a new fleet of electric buses.

In the past, the AAP government has presented an "education and health budget' and "outcome budget".

It is for the third consecutive year that education is getting around 25 per cent of the budget allocation.

A sum of Rs 175 crore was allotted for installing 1.2 lakh CCTV cameras in all government schools, which would enable parents to view online their children's activities in the classroom. The 13% of the total budget is being allocated to the three Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCDs).

To that end, he also announced that the School Management Committee members of its schools will get Rs 5 lakh each as funds to carry out reforms on their own - like small construction or upgrade projects, helping teachers get aids or employing resource persons on their level to help assist their kids - without having to go to the government or the Directorate of education. It has taken care of poor, women, middle class people and students. "An outlay of Rs 100 crore is proposed for this scheme", he said.

530 Mohalla clinics to be set up by October 30, 2018.

"This has benefitted 37.28 lakh consumers (82.84 percent) of the total 45 lakh domestic category consumers in Delhi", he said presenting the progress report of the Power department.
