Christopher Wylie, who worked at Cambridge Analytica and has brought forward accusations about how the company allegedly misused data from as many as 50 million Facebook users, told a committee in the U.K. Parliament that a Canadian firm allegedly linked to Cambridge Analytica developed the software that the Trump campaign used to target voters in the 2016 USA presidential race. And built models to exploit what we knew about them and target their inner demons.

Christopher Wylie, a former employee of Cambridge Analytica turned whistleblower said on Tuesday that the company had worked extensively in India and believed it was employed by the Congress party during his evidence before a United Kingdom parliamentary committee investigating the issue of fake news. "I don't remember a national project", he said on Tuesday. India's so big that one state can be as big as Britain. He further said that the company had offices and staff in the country.

Wylie pointed to a report from Gizmodo published Monday, indicating that internal documents from Cambridge Analytica show that Aggregate IQ developed its election platform and added that Aggregate IQ also "inherited a lot of the company culture of total disregard for the law".

During a lengthy session in which MPs from across the political spectrum on the culture, media and sport (DCMS) committee quizzed Wylie, he provided a snapshot of the work carried out by the firms, now in the spotlight, highlighting how data captured enabled them to build up psychological profiles of individuals who would be particularly susceptible to forms of certain tactics. The statement added that Black Cube was "flattered that we are seemingly being connected with every worldwide incident that occurs", and vowed to investigate Wylie's claims further.

Last week, the Facebook CEO had issued an apology and in a Facebook post pledged to take a series of steps to protect user data and fix the breach of trust between the company and its users.

IT expert Paul Olivier Dehaye, who gave evidence to the committee with Wylie, referred to the death in 2012 in Kenya of Wylie's predecessor in the CA job, Romanian national Dan Muresan, who had allegedly worked in India for the Congress. In a response to Collins, Facebook's head of public policy, Rebecca Stimson, said the company would be putting forward its chief technology officer, Mike Schroepfer, or its chief product officer, Chris Cox. And a whistleblower says he believes the firm, which has ties to the Trump presidential campaign, may have swayed the U.K.'s 2016 Brexit vote. This has exposed Rahul Gandhi who was denying it all along.

He also described as "categorically untrue" claims that Cambridge Analytica had never used Facebook data, using the app, which had been the "foundational data set of the company".

In a deposition to UK House of Commons, Wylie named Congress as one of the clients.

Earlier, the BJP had launched a scathing attack on the Congress and had questioned the party on its relation with Cambridge Analytica. "He was not, as he claims, a founder of Cambridge Analytica".
