Police say they are trying to balance robust security measures with a desire to allow the thousands of onlookers to enjoy the atmosphere of the wedding.

More security will be in place once people arrive in Windsor, including a screening and search regime, and any items that may pose a risk to the public will be removed.

A brewery in Windsor, the British town where Prince Harry will marry American Meghan Markle in May, believes it has concocted its own flawless pairing with a "royal beer" celebrating the occasion.

Prince Harry and Markle are to marry at St George's Chapel, within the grounds of Queen Elizabeth II's Windsor Castle residence.

Police said there would be a steady build-up of security in Windsor in the coming weeks.

"On the day, visitors may be stopped and checked", it said, adding that police would also be patrolling stations and train carriages into Windsor. It is unclear if he will wear a uniform on his wedding day.

A broad range of visible security measures will be in place, such us the extensive network of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology, CCTV and hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) barriers.

Metal barriers will be erected in the Berkshire town to deter attackers from using vehicles, like the terrorist atrocities committed on London and Westminster bridges.

Dogs and mounted officers will also be on patrol and marine officers will be conducting searches along the nearby Thames river.

The regal-themed brew, a pale ale named "Harry & Meghan's Windsor Knot", appropriately combines British and American hops, barley grown on the Royal Farms adjoining Windsor Castle - and a finishing touch of champagne yeast.

Specialist units, such as firearms officers, are to be brought in as reinforcements from neighboring forces.

'We are working with our partners, local businesses and the community to deliver a safe, secure and happy event for everyone'.

The current threat level for the United Kingdom remains at the second-highest level of "severe", meaning an attack is "highly likely".

"Regiments and units that hold a special relationship with Prince Harry will provide ceremonial support at the wedding and during the carriage procession at the request of Kensington Palace", the official statement, released on Wednesday, March 28, read.

In February, a letter addressed to Prince Harry and Markle was intercepted by police.
