  • Weather Wrapping up the first round of wet weather this week

Not a bad start for the Easter Weekend. Tonight, mostly clear and chilly, lows in the 40s.

And we may have just felt the warmest day we're going to feel for at least a week as below average temperatures will rule not just this weekend all through next workweek.

Ample sunshine for Saturday with highs from the mid 60s north to around 70 degrees across the Sandhills. A bigger warm-up returns early next week with the humidity increasing ahead of our next chance for rain late Tuesday into early Wednesday.

It does turn a bit cooler on Sunday with a few more clouds for Easter.

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61.

River levels remain high and continue to rise along the Sabine with increased releases resulting in higher forecast crests. Mostly sunny skies are forecast for the majority of the weekend. The dry west winds will also provide drier air and partly sunny skies on Saturday. Winds will be cool and gusty, out of the Northeast between 10-15 miles per hour, keeping things along the coast feeling even cooler.

After a cloudy week, and still a few low clouds this morning, expect afternoon sunshine today! That means we'll hit a high of about 51° by lunch, then fall into the 40s through the evening drive. Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s and low to mid 30s. Winds SW/N 15-30 miles per hour.

Next week brings at least a slight chance of rain nearly everyday except Wednesday but chances of seeing rain everyday are small.

Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Southwest winds will be 5 to 10 miles per hour. Thursday looks dry with highs in the mid 70s.
