UK weather What a difference a year makes

With the snow gone, summer-like weather will embrace the region today with a forecasted high of 63 degrees.

The STORMTracker weather team will update you with updated conditions on this next spring storm system.

The storm left half a foot of snow in Minnesota and the Dakotas, and up to 19 inches in parts of Montana.

The snow will likely change into rain later on Friday, as well, but that's still not the end.

The storm stretched from OH to coastal southern New England early Monday, and northern New Jersey took a hard hit with 4 to 8 inches of snow accumulation, leading to dozens of vehicle spinouts and crashes. The previous record by April 3 was 49.1, meaning the snow we've seen this year has been a record to this date.

Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky are forecast to take the bring of the storm's wrath, DeWald said. We're only going up to the lower 40s today for highs. Overnight lows were expected to dip into the upper 30s. The main story will be the temperatures; highs will only be in the upper 20s this afternoon.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 60 percent chance for more snow.

Temperatures dropped to 17 degrees at KCI Wednesday morning, breaking the record of 20 degrees for April 4 set in 1920.

Tomorrow should be a nice spring chaser to this shot of winter weather with a high of -1C and, more importantly, sun. He said it will remain in the 30s, but there is a chance the area could get more snow on Friday and Sunday. The wind ahead of the front will be from the southwest then shift to the west behind the boundary. Winds on Wendesday afternoon could gust over 50mph, which is enough to cause scattered power outages and tree limb damage.
