  • Report: Willie Snead leaves New Orleans for Baltimore

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Willie Snead (83) is tackled by Carolina Panthers cornerback Kevon Seymour (27) in the second half at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Saints declined to match the offer, allowing Snead to leave the organization for Baltimore.

However, Snead said he was ready to get to work and was looking forward to facing the Saints in Week 7.

The New Orleans Saints have decided not to match the Baltimore Ravens' offer sheet for restricted free agent wide receiver Willie Snead, which will now make him an official member of the Ravens.

Snead tweeted: "What I'm going to miss most is the men in the locker room and the coaches". He opened last season on a three-game suspension related to an offseason arrest for driving while intoxicated, and in the 11 games he played, he had just eight catches for 92 yards.

The deal includes a $2 million signing bonus, and after a year of injury and inconsistency for the Saints, they made a decision to let the former Ball State Cardinal walk.

He becomes the Ravens third veteran wide receiver to sign during the off-season, joining Michael Crabtree and John Brown in Baltimore.

Snead was an undrafted free agent who shocked the league in his first two seasons, catching 141 passes for 1,879 yards and seven touchdowns.
