The 80-year-old former comedian faces up to 10 years in prison on each count, but would likely serve them concurrently.

Prosecutor Kristen Feden also blasted Cosby for smirking while she talked about his accusers, saying. His chief accuser, Andrea Constand, remained stoic. In a freakish turn of events, Cosby then stood up and began comically barking like a dog.

The jury convicted him on all three counts of aggravated indecent assault after 14 hours of deliberation. He says the woman consented. "I feel like my faith in humanity is restored".

"We are very disappointed by the verdict. We don't believe Mr. Cosby is guilty of anything".

"He doesn't have a plane, you asshole!" But a decade later, a judge unsealed Cosby's transcript for the deposition he gave in the civil case. He is not allowed to leave the state of Pennsylvania.

Soon after the first trial, a series of women leveled sexual assault and harassment accusations against men in media, entertainment and politics, giving rise to the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements that encouraged women go public with personal stories of abuse, in some cases after years of silence.

In 2017, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele - who vowed to prosecute Cosby while campaigning for office - filed his case. "It was the right thing to do". Though Cosby's team will likely appeal the ruling, you can not appeal a conviction to the Pennsylvania Superior Court until after sentencing is complete. Defense attorneys and prosecutors delivered their closing arguments Tuesday.

The defense's star witness was a former colleague of Constand who says Constand spoke of leveling false sexual assault accusations against a high-profile person for the objective of filing a civil suit. He also said the sexual encounter was consensual.

But Cosby himself had long ago confirmed sordid revelations about drugs and extramarital sex.

His retrial began April 9. Some cried on the stand recounting how Cosby attacked them while they were in drug-induced stupors, and others attempted to discredit main accuser Andrea Constand by detailing instances of supposed deceit and inconsistencies. She testified that Cosby, a powerful trustee at Temple, drugged her and sexually assaulted her when she visited his home to ask for career advice.

Constand, 45, told jurors that Cosby knocked her out with three blue pills he called "your friends" and then penetrated her with his fingers as she lay immobilized, unable to resist or say no.

The defense and prosecution spent five and a half hours delivering their closing arguments Tuesday. She derided the other women as home-wreckers and suggested they made up their stories in a bid for money and fame.

Another Cosby defense attorney, Tom Mesereau, called Constand a "pathological liar".
