A black man entered a Starbucks and asked for the restroom code, but he did not purchase a drink.

Video of the protests and the arrests of the two unidentified men spread widely on social media, sparking the Twitter hashtag #BoycottStarbucks. It's unclearwhen Johnson will meet with the men.

Johnson called the arrests "reprehensible". "Starbucks stands firmly against discrimination or racial profiling", the CEO said in a statement.

Two black men, whose names have not been released, were arrested at the store on Thursday after the shop's manager, who has reportedly since left the company, called 911 to report the two for "trespassing".

At least six Philadelphia police officers arrived, asked the men to leave, and later arrested them.

"None of the white customers were asked to leave, and they were there a lot longer than those young men", said attorney Stewart Cohen, who represents the two men.

"The police were called because these men hadn't ordered anything".

"It's just very unfortunate", Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross told WPVI-TV.

Protesters gathered outside the branch in downtown Philadelphia on Sunday, with a local preacher leading several dozen in chants of "I am somebody, and I demand equality now". "We're going to learn from this, and we're going to be better from this", he said. Yaffe says. "Does anybody else think this is ridiculous?"

Over the weekend, demonstrators called for the firing of the employee who contacted police, who arrested the men on Thursday.

Charles Connelly is a regular customer at Starbucks in Erie, and says this incident is not a reflection on the entire company, "But obviously in this case, it was racism, let's cut the crap here, it was racism". "Someone tell me what they did!"

"We are reviewing our policies and will continue to engage with the community and the police department to try to ensure these types of situations never happen in any of our stores", the statement read.

Mr. Johnson said he wants to personally apologize to the two men.

On Good Morning America, Johnson said that he planned to train staff about "unconscious bias". They also want all police officers to wear body cameras within a year.

Speaking to TMZ, T.I. urged people not to patronize the famous coffee brand after footage showed two men being arrested despite claiming they did nothing wrong.
