Stormy Daniels Blows Into 'Saturday Night Live'

One of President Donald Trump's attorneys in the Russian Federation probe, Rudy Giuliani, left open the possibility that Michael Cohen might have doled out payments like the one he made to adult film star Stormy Daniels to other women.

Daniels' lawyer, Michael Avenatti, accused Trump of having an "extramarital affair slush fund" and told ABC he believed similar payments had been made to other women. Giuliani said. "When I'm facing a situation with the president and all the other lawyers are, in which every lawyer in America thinks he would be a fool to testify, I've got a client who wants to testify". "But I would think if it was necessary, yes".

Giuliani also suggested that Trump wouldn't necessarily comply with a subpoena from Mueller, whose investigation Trump has repeatedly labeled a "witch hunt".

He revealed last week that Trump had reimbursed Cohen, a startling announcement that stood in direct contrast to the president's own public claims weeks earlier. "We can assert the same privileges other presidents have", he said. But he said he did not know whether Trump would invoke the Fifth Amendment. "And I would also tell you that I'm happy to answer these questions, but I have limited visibility into what Mayor Giuliani is talking about".

Giuliani said he first made Trump aware of the payment shortly after joining the case but now says he doesn't know when Trump knew about it. Trump said Saturday that Giuliani needed to "get his facts straight" but insisted they weren't changing their story. "He's the president of the United States", he said.

During a 2016 campaign rally, Mr Trump disparaged staffers of his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, for taking the Fifth during a congressional investigation into Mrs Clinton's use of a private email server when she was secretary of state.

Giuliani maintained on Sunday that the payment can't be considered an in-kind campaign contribution because there was another explanation for it.

Giuliani stated he was undecided when Trump discovered, saying, "It might have been lately, it might have been some time again".

He said the money was paid "to settle a personal issue that would be embarrassing" to Trump and his wife, and also argued that the amount of money made it seem like more of "a nuisance payment" than anything else.

"I never thought $130,000 - I know this sounds amusing to people there at home - I never thought $130,000 was a real payment. When I settle this, when it was real or a real possibility, it's a couple million dollars, not $130,000".

"We are going to walk ourselves into a trap like that", Giuliani told ABC. "He made payments for the president or he's conducted business for the president, which means he had legal fees, monies laid out and expenditures". "That's not a decision to be made now, there's no reason to pardon anybody now".
