  • Video Shows White Cop Choking a Black Prom-Goer Outside a North Carolina Waffle House

The young black man had escorted his 16-year-old sister to her prom and entered the Waffle House in his tuxedo.

A video posted to Facebook on May 8, and widely circulated on various social media platforms and national news sites, shows the officer pinning the man, identified as Anthony Wall, against a window, then turning him around and gripping his neck.

Anthony was charged with disorderly conduct in the altercation inside of the Waffle House.

"I was pretty much trying to scream for air and trying to breathe because he was holding my throat", he told the broadcaster. He said that the company has already launched extensive investigations into the two incidents and spoke directly with a woman from a third high profile incident, where she claimed that another Alabama Waffle House intentionally locked her out.

"Get your hands off of me", Wall said, struggling to speak. The restaurant released a statement about both incidents Friday.

Travis Gettys is an editor for Raw Story. "On May 9, I then requested the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation by telephone to investigate this matter". Video of the incident shows Clemons, who is black, being thrown to the ground and having her breasts exposed during a scuffle with several police officers.

Martin Luther King Jr.'s youngest daughter has called for a Waffle House boycott following a series of disturbing incidents involving law enforcement and the chain's black patrons.

"He could have de-escalated the situation and moved on", Moore said of the officer.

Outraged, Wall took to Facebook to upload the video of the incident, with the accompanying caption: "This have to stop please help by share reporting to ever news report u know please". Waffle House issued a statement: We are looking into the incident that occurred at our Warsaw, NC, restaurant to gather all the facts.

The officer told Wall to put his hands behind his back. Connors said he has asked residents and others not to call the police department to tie up lines if they're trying to complain about the video. "We are now investigating the whole incident, interviewing witnesses and gathering additional video", he stated.

When a police officer arrived, he placed Wall in a chokehold before eventually taking him away in handcuffs.

Warsaw Police Chief Eric Southerland declined to comment to NBC News on details of the investigation or the officer's actions, but said the internal review should be completed next week.
