Hawaii volcano lava destroys hundreds of homes overnight

A 5.5-magnitude quake struck near the summit of Kilauea early Tuesday, but it was not strong enough to generate a tsunami, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.
"The lava breakout on the north side of the Kapoho cinder pits continues to be stalled southeast of the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Cinder Road", the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reports.
