Liverpool are pushing to get a deal done to sign Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir before he departs for the World Cup with France, Sky sources understand. The French newspaper are reporting that both sides are now eager for a deal to be done before France fly out to Russian Federation this weekend with a fee of 65 millions Euros the reported price tag.

But Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas earlier said the deal would NOT go through until after the World Cup.

The France worldwide had not been expected to finalise a switch to Merseyside before the end of this summer's World Cup.

Liverpool have agreed on a fee with Lyon for the transfer of coveted attacker Nabil Fékir, with a medical expected to take place on Friday. "The deal will certainly not be closed during the World Cup and I don't think there will be any change before the World Cup".

The Frenchman is set to become Liverpool's second signing of the summer following the £44m purchase of Monaco ace Fabinho.
