'We demand that he immediately drop out of the race, ' ' Trump in Fargo, North Dakota said.

Crowley's loss was a shocking defeat.

He said the increasingly leftward movement of the Democratic Party was making it harder for them to realize their goal of taking control of the House and Senate in November.

"I've heard her say, "Gee, I voted with him 55% of the time.' Can you imagine going home and telling your wife, 'I've been faithful to you 55% of the time"?"

President Donald Trump is lashing out at critics who have made threats against Homeland Security Department workers and called for the abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Trump called Cramer a "special person" and a "good guy" while endorsing his Senate bid.

He is expected to appear in support of GOP Representative Kevin Cramer, who is running for election in the Senate and is looking to flip the seat of Democrat incumbent Heidi Heitkamp.

Right now, with Democrats heavily invested in their Heidi-is-pro-Trump narrative, would be the ideal time for Trump himself to descend on the race and rile up the Republican base for Cramer.

Homeland Security officials have suggested employees lock doors and windows and remove badges when in public as the department faces heavy criticism over the separation of children from their parents at the border.

Air Force One touched down in Fargo, North Dakota, just hours after Kennedy informed Trump during a White House meeting of his decision to retire next month after three decades on the high court. He is trying to unseat Democratic Sen.

"In all of our policies, we want to make that really clear, we're fighting for working families and people across the state", Rich said before Trump's speech.

"Heidi will vote no on any pick we make to the Supreme Court", he said.

Cramer told The Associated Press that the hubbub was "more about the White House than me", but some Republicans believe it's time for Trump, who's enormously popular in North Dakota, to take on Heitkamp. Trump told a rally crowd in Fargo on Wednesday that Cramer loves the state and its people.

Donnelly said he had a "good conversation" with Trump and "will thoroughly review the record and qualifications" of the nominee.

Heitkamp was squarely in the president's sights throughout Wednesday's rally. The president says he's actually used the product, "believe it or not".

Rep. Kevin Cramer, R-ND, speaks at the 2018 North Dakota Republican Party Convention in Grand Forks, N.D., April 7, 2018.

Cramer is challenging Sen.

Heitkamp, one of the most endangered Democrats in the chamber, has been sharply criticized by Republicans here.

Seems odd, given that North Dakota is 1,500 miles from El Paso, Texas. She won her first term by only about 3,000 votes, and both sides have stockpiled millions for the race.

Cramer was an early Trump supporter and remains one of the president's staunchest allies in Congress.

But, barring some announcement for a North Dakota visit shortly, this sure looks like a snub. "But North Dakota voters know better".

"She may give us a couple of quickie votes before the election because she has to, but after the election she'll vote against us", Trump said.
