  • Fortnite players meeting at ‘the rocket’ for tomorrow’s first real time mystery event

This will be the first time Epic Games will incorporate a real-time game event that couldn't be seen by players after its initial introduction.

50v50 was scheduled to enter the rotation today, June 29, at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET; however, Epic announced on Twitter that it discovered "a few issues" with the mode and won't be enabling it just yet. "We're continuing testing on our matchmaking improvements and are still aiming to open the Playground LTM as soon as we're confident in our improvements, " Epic posted to the "Fortnite: Battle Royal" subreddit. The reason why Playground mode is so intriguing to players is because it's essentially a sandbox where you can build, explore, and practice fighting to your heart's content. The studio says that it'll provide an update on the mode when it's ready to go live. We'll have more information available tomorrow.

The new mode of play was removed Wednesday to the chagrin of many players.

MrPopoTFS on Reddit (a developer at the game) has clarified when we can see an update for Playground mode hit.

Fortnite made Epic Games about $95 million more in a month than the next leading free-to-play game did for its creator back in July 2017.

The exact reason why is not clear, but it seems that Epic was extremely keen on letting everybody know - perhaps to ensure that a bunch of gawkers don't show up on Sunday for the glorious spectacle that is a crushing wave of realisation that you missed the actual glorious spectacle. "We're still testing these changes but are aiming to return this mode later today".

"When you make matches for every 1-4 people, it requires between 25x and 100x as many matches as normal per 100 people depending on their party size", the statement reads.
