Fans praised Gareth Southgate's team for stopping Sweden playing and locking down the game. The victory left revelers in Montreal's Burgundy Lion feeling pretty good - though the liquid refreshments may have helped.

The win came easily for England, with two lovely headers from Harry Maguire and Dele Alli leading the way to a dominant victory.

In case you missed it, Harry Maguire's powerful header from a set piece sent the Three Lions on their way after 30 minutes. "Thank you for the show". Paulo Momesso, owner of Momesso's Restaurant in NDG's Little Italy said it's been tough to watch after Italy didn't qualify for the first time since 1958.

Nigel O'Hara, 59, from Bradford, donned a shirt with Gascoigne on the back in a nod to midfielder Paul Gascoigne who played in England's last World Cup semi-final at Italia 90. We knew we would have the majority of the ball and it was a case of breaking them down because Sweden are a really well organised team.

"First time I've seen them get there".

The 25-year-old would certainly be a good signing for us as he would provide a lot of competition to the likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and even Eric Bailly.

"We think they're a very strong team", Southgate said.

"We're not a team where we just turn up and we're waltzing around, strolling around and we've got an entitlement", Southgate said. "That's the bedrock of why we are getting some decent results and we have to continue doing that".

"We don't fear Croatia or Russian Federation and the final is a one-off game, so it's a lottery".

While England's win is certainly cause for celebration, the video - which was posted to Twitter just a few hours ago and has already notched up nearly 200,000 views - has sparked numerous people to berate the behaviour of the fans in question.

"It's a Premier League championship now, isn't it really?"

"We've never a had a better path than we've got now".

"I'm still not sure".

"Kane can drag England to semi-finals but I have some doubt about the squad after I saw the two matches with Belgium and Colombia. I'd just love to see it".
