With Ailsa Craig and the famous Turnberry lighthouse in the background, marksmen looked down on the course from scaffolding and a police boat patrolled the sea. "He is coming as a guest of the UK Govt, they must not leave @policescotland with a £5m bill".

A major anti-Trump rally is planned in Edinburgh on Saturday after a mass protest in London Friday that organisers said drew more than 250,000 people.

But Trump has faced endless opposition as he's worked to renovate the Turnberry resort on the west coast and expand Trump International Golf Links Scotland in Aberdeen.

Protesters marched in Edinburgh Saturday, while police tried to find a paraglider who breached a no-fly zone and flew a protest banner over the golf resort where Mr. Trump is staying.

Greenpeace tweeted a picture of the protester with the words: "How do you deliver a message to someone who doesn't want to listen?"

Trump moved calmly inside as the parachute approached, surrounded by his security detail.

He appeared to say something to them.

In an uproarious trip to Europe, Trump harangued members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation military alliance, scolded Germany for its dependence on Russian energy and shocked Britain by publicly criticising Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit strategy. The vast majority of British people are appalled by his words and deeds.

On Saturday, Mr Trump was heckled by protesters who branded him a "racist" as he played golf with his son Eric at Turnberry.

Aides had said Trump would spend the weekend preparing to meet Putin on Monday in Helsinki, but the tweets showed other topics were on his mind.

He had also told The Sun he offered Mrs May advice on how to handle the negotiations, and his former chief strategist Steve Bannon has revealed the president's tips came from his book, The Art Of The Deal.

Mr Bannon told The Daily Telegraph that Mr Trump offered this advice to Mrs May, as well as advising her to be "brutal" and "tough".

"He gave her the precis [of his book], which is "overshoot your target and get on with it - because if this drags on it is going to be bad".

The US president apologised to Mrs May on Friday over an incendiary interview criticising her premiership, and hailed UK-US relations as the "highest level of special". One woman in a trade union bib held a placard reading: "Mr Trump, you are not welcome".

But Trump was also keeping tabs on domestic issues, including the investigations into Russian election meddling.

Another Twitter user said: "I don't like Donald Trump, I think he's a complete moron".

White House Correspondents' Association President Margaret Talev said in a statement that "saying a news organization isn't real doesn't change the facts and won't stop us from doing our jobs".

"I will absolutely bring that up".

He said he had apologised to Mrs May for the report and praised her professionalism in her response.

"The Scottish government beat that American golf course owner in court... and these wonderful wind turbines generated their first electricity", she said. I thought that was very professional. "I don't think you'll have any 'Gee, I did it".
