Alisson to make Liverpool debut in Napoli friendly, says Klopp

  • Adam Lallana has played for Liverpool since 2014

Liverpool signed the 25-year-old Brazil worldwide from AS Roma, smashing the world record for a goalkeeper in a deal worth up to €72.5 million (RM341.9 million).

Alisson had been the number one goalkeeper in both standing and number for Roma last season but now at Liverpool Loris Karius holds the no. 1 jersey.

This is Liverpool's penultimate fixture in a pre-season that has offered great encouragement, most recently burying Jose Mourinho's Manchester United by four goals to one in their final fixture of the International Champions Cup.

"Each player in the world needs training and time to adapt to his teammates".

"We have two games to do that before we start, so it's really good".

The signing of Alisson from Roma this summer has further pushed Mignolet out of the picture at Anfield and he is keen to move on.

While the Reds face West Ham at home on the opening day of the season, which will be the usual mix of tension and excitement around a competitive league match, the Torino game is altogether the opposite.

"He obviously has a real presence, he's smart, he's very nice and it's good to have him around", Klopp continued.

And Alisson insists he will be 100 per cent ready by the time the Reds kick off their new campaign.

"We will see who can start against Napoli".

The German also said Alisson has been killing it in training.

"If possible we will see [whether he plays a part against Napoli]".

"But in critical situations, I felt tracking back and what we needed for the team in a relegation battle just wasn't there". I think it's probably what the players and the team need actually, it's away from the public eye and the limelight for a little bit [and] lets them get on with their work.
