Donald Trump Jr. 'fixes' Kaepernick Nike ad with his dad's face

  • The campaign is specially timed to mark the 30th anniversary of the company’s slogan ‘Just do it.’ A large billboard featuring the ad is seen above in New York City on Thursday

Both the Kaepernick ad and the recent tribute commercial for Williams scored very highly with consumers in positive reaction and resulting likelihood of purchasing Nike products.

It's been two years since the former 49ers QB took a knee during the National Anthem to protest systemic racial injustice and police brutality and Trump has been right there to criticize him heavily nearly every step of the way.

"I think it's a disgrace", said Salisbury resident Randy Mosley.

"I think Nike's trying to get out ahead of it and try and do something that's special".

While the NFL continues to wrestle with how to deal with protests during the national anthem, there were no such apparent demonstrations during Thursday night's game, which the defending champion Eagles won 18-12.

The Nike commercial, which has been criticized by United States President Donald Trump, was shown on American television during Thursday's National Football League season opener.

According to USA Today, Jerry Falwell, Jr., the president of Liberty University, told them during a phone interview on Friday that the University is possibly reconsidering its relationship with Nike. "That shows you just have no respect for the anthem or the flag".

Kaepernick's deal with Nike for the 30th anniversary of the "Just Do It" campaign was the most polarizing issue in sports this week, prompting heated debate on several topics including athletes protesting social injustice and Nike wading into political waters. "But if it's really how the leadership of the company feels and they're attacking law enforcement and military folks on goal and then why deal with them when there's plenty of others out there".

The National Association of Police Organizations also called for a boycott of Nike over its support for the former Super Bowl participant, who has emphasized his opposition to police brutality, and the National Fraternal Order of Police condemned the campaign. And a store in Colorado has said it will be removing all Nike merchandise following the move. I don't know why they're not enforcing it and in cases where they don't have it, they have a new thing where they don't have to do that.
