  • Nintendo is rolling out its Switch Online service next week

The much anticipated online gaming service for the popular Nintendo Switch has a start date: September 18.

There wasn't too much of the game revealed just yet, but we did see some of the ghost-capturing gameplay that the game will have, which is a bit similar to what we saw in previous Mansion games.

The service also unlocks access to a library of NES games, including Super Mario Bros.

The Splatoon 2 in-game gear is a free download code for people who purchase a 12-month Nintendo Switch individual or family membership.

In addition to this, they've also confirmed that system software 6.0.0 will release alongside Nintendo Online. From what we can tell from the Nintendo Direct presentation, they seem to be an accurate rendition of the classic console gamepads. According to Nintendo, "it will no longer be possible to unlink your Nintendo Account from your Nintendo Switch user". All Nintendo Account holders will get a free seven-day trial, and more information about features and pricing are available on Nintendo's site. You can save a few bucks by opting for a three-month membership for $7.99 or a 12-month subscription for $19.99.

The Nintendo Direct that was postponed last week will instead take place tomorrow, September 13, at 11pm BST, Nintendo said this morning.
